MY FIRST LABEL DESIGNED

Back in Sri Lanka, when I was schooling, still with the goal of Fashion in my mind, my dad wanted to start a brand. He intended to create white clothes for temple wear. It is really hard to find decent looking white garments, especially for women to buy. By doing so, he also wanted to study the field of fashion to look at the obstacles and opportunities at the same time I would face in the future.

During the first year, he already had a label designed for the brand Black Lily. He later wanted to develop the label into something that looks expensive. Henceforward, my dad asked me to develop a label for the brand. I researched for lily flower shapes, line drawings, etc. I intended to design a lily flower in one line. After many sketches, for many days, I finally got my father's approval for my design.

Now the next challenge was to draw it in the computer. I did not know how to use Adobe Illustrator or had it with me anyway. For starters, I used a free software called, "Inkscape". I studied the software on YouTube and managed to draw it on the computer. Day by day, it was getting easier. I was able to finish the label for printing. the picture you see below is one of my proud moments. If not for Inscape, I wouldn’t be better in Adobe Illustrator now.
