From all the courses I have studied so far, the Product Specifications course sits at the top of my favourite courses list. The objective of learning this course is to learn how to develop and produce a range of specifications sheets based on a garment and ensure that they communicate clearly for design and shipping requirements. I also learned how to interpret, evaluate and apply the patternmaking principles and theories in developing garment patterns.

At the beginning of the second week of the semester, in short notice, I had to fly back to my country, of receiving the sad news that my grandmother had passed away. After spending two weeks in Sri Lanka, I flew back to Vietnam with a heavy heart. The only thing that distracted me from the sadness was my studies. I was already late to start my first assignment and did not have a groupmate to pair up. My lecturer gave me one week of extension to finish the assignment by myself. Thereupon I stayed up for days to finish it.

Firstly, part A section was about illustrating 6 garments taken from the internet. The part B section was about creating a specification pack. This area was very new, but I managed to do it too. We were required to make a specification pack for a garment own by us, so to learn the construction procedure. I used my Levi's denim pants for the part B section. Below you'll see the pdf file of my assignment.

After submitting the first assignment, the next step was to study about patternmaking. The first step was to develop a basic skirt block of UK size 10 by reading the patternmaking principles. Also taught to develop an A-line skirt out of the basic skirt block. Likewise, a trouser block, a bodice block, a sleeve block. Thereupon, we were requested to develop one of our own designs, create the patternmaking principles, develop the pattern, cut the fabric out of the patterns created, do the specification file for the design, and finally produce a sample of the design.

Below is the pdf file containing Below is the pdf file of the second assignment of all my work. I hope you would also consider Product Specification in the favourite list of courses.
